Recipe Exchange and Game Night

There's never a lack of something to do with our Women's Ministry.  Our October event was a Recipe Exchange and Game Night.  Since we are now one church with two locations, we decided to hold this event at our Glenwood campus.

Several of our ladies brought their favorite dish and a great attitude.  Martha Rhoton and Jeni Morelock organized the food and beverages, and Michelle Cox and Christy Brister  headed up the games.

Wonder what was so funny?

We have a wonderful time when we get together for any event.  Won't you consider joining us next time?  You don't have to be a member of Indian Springs Baptist Church to attend, you just have to be lady. :)

Our next event is our annual Holiday Dinner.  This event is the one we all look forward to as the hostess for each table decorates her table for the holidays.  You will get lots of decorating ideas and enjoy a good meal and fellowship with other ladies.  The tickets are on sale now for $20.  You may purchase them during the week at either the Hill Rd. or Glenwood office, or on Sundays between services.

The speaker this year is Tempe Brown.  I can't wait to hear what she has to say to us.  Our theme is "Peace Be Still"

Killing Time at Kil'n Time Fun

Tuesday night, we reserved space at the contemporary pottery studio, Kil'n Time, in Bristol.  This was our second event there, our first being last year.  It is one of our favorite Women's Ministry's Ladies Night Out events.  We had time to catch up with each other, encourage one another in our efforts, and form a closer bond.

These events are important to developing our Women's Ministry program.  It is crucial to set aside time
just to be together, to laugh, to have fun, always keeping our focus on who brought us together, and to whose purpose we are called, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Making friends with other Christian woman crosses age barriers.  All ages were represented at this event.  We love each other and have fun learning from each other.  Every time we get together, our bond grows stronger.  We are reaching out and loving on other folks, too.

These ladies are serious painters! It was a special night with olf ISBC members,
Kellie Elliott, Robin Lawhun, and Maria LaBarbera.
Karen Lovelace, Teronya Holmes, Jackie Mumpower, and Susie Toomey work on their masterpieces.

Ann Collins paints a Bears Den pitcher for her new cabin as Pam GoForth and our new friend,
June Maynhier admire and encourage her.

Friends bring friends to Ladies' Night Out. Brooke Phillipe, Jessica Poff, and Rachel Call had a good time.

This little piggy is going to Kathy Tilley's granddaughter.  Way to teach her stewardship!

Cindy Dunford, Lyndy Davison, and Kathy Tilley are deep in thought.  Quiet please, as we work.

Judy Allen works on a snowman platter.  Could she be thinking ahead to the Ladies Holiday Dinner?

"I need more PIZZA!" says Ursula Ward, as Michelle Sanchez takes a break to calm her.
Susan Cox is having a good time speckling her frog.

The Vowells are having a family night out.  Our cooks are always welcome at any of our events!

It's so natural to see Coach Susie Toomey with a clipboard in her hands.  She is also a very gifted painter of Toucans.

Indian Springs Baptist Church has an active Women's Ministry.  We attempt to get together at least every six weeks to do something fun.  We have two major events during the year, our Ladies Retreat, and our annual Holiday Dinner.  If you aren't involved in a Women's Ministry program, come and be involved in ours.  We are growing in numbers, and in grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Watch this blog for announcements on upcoming events.  The next one will announced in a couple of days.

Other for sure dates are:

Tuesday, September 21st at 6:30:
Planning dinner for the Holiday Dinner
Pam Archer's house, or in case of rain at the SAC.
If you are interested in planning any part of the Holiday Dinner, or being a hostess for one of the tables, please plan to attend.  RSVP is requested, since Pam is cooking the dinner for us.

Friday, November 19th at 5:30 (doors open)
Annual Holiday Dinner, guest speaker Janie Tabor,
an award winning singer.

Have a blessed day!
He keeps me singing...do you have His song in your heart?

Karaoke and Games for Ladies Night Out

Start tuning up your vocal chords and get ready to compete in our Ladies Night Out Karaoke and Game Night.  Friday night, June 18th, at 7:00 pm is our next Women's Ministry Event.  Teronya Holmes has graciously volunteered, well okay I asked her, to host the evening.

Don't worry if you are bashful.  There will be plenty of garb to hide behind, or better yet, bring your own costume for singing.  You know, things like old bridesmaids' dresses, hats, scarves, jewelry, basically any kind of dress-up kinds of things. There will be prizes awarded for the following categories:

Best Karaoke Disaster
Funniest
Best Duet or Group
Most Likely to Get a Recording Contract
Most Unique

There will be games to play and lots of laughter.

Bring your favorite snack and a friend or three and head on over to Teronya's.
She lives in Preston Forest.  Please call her 343-7740 and let her know you are coming.

Ladies Night Out at Kil'n Time

Our July Event was held at Kil'n Time Ceramics Studio, in Bristol, TN. Kil'n Time is a trendy studio, where you can be as creative as you want to be with the piece of pottery that you select to paint.

The studio has idea books, every color of paint imaginable, sponges, templates, stencils; virtually everything you need to paint a masterpiece. They offer various classes throughout the year, so check out their web site to get more information.

Approximately 35 women attended the event. We invited friends and family to enjoy an evening of painting and pizza. I enjoyed walking around the room and seeing all the cool ideas. You can see some of the pieces in the video above.

Everyone had a great time, and many have requested that we do it again. It was so much fun! We hope to see you there next time.
