When a soldier loses his/her life, their tomb is often marked with a cross. A cross is a symbol of the ultimate sacrifice of life for others. The most important sacrifice for others was made on a cross on Mt. Calvary. Jesus gave his life so that we can have salvation and eternal life. He said that whomever believes in him will have eternal life. What an amazing gift! He offers freedom from bondage and the opportunity to live a life of victory.
