Hi! I am Brandy Kisner. I am going to start posting weekly as the Health and Wellness Coordinator of the Women's Ministry at ISBC. I will be giving you tips for a healthy lifestyle which include recipes, events, exercise programs and more! That's right..The Queen of Clean will be posting new and different postings each week on this blog!!
This week I just wanted to tell you a little about myself and why I am posting this information. I have been a member at ISBC since 2001. I am an RN. I graduated from Milligan College in 1997. I worked for 10 years in the ER and 3 in SDS. I am currently staying home with my 2 boys. My passion for a healthy lifestyle comes from my personal experiences, from seeing sick people and wondering what they could have done to prevent these illnesses in the first place. I wanted to know what caused this, how to prevent this, and how to feel my best and be the healthiest I could for myself and my family. I eat creations the way God made them..free of the extras..like chemicals, pesticides, preservatives, dyes, hormones, antibiotics, and processing.....

So how does this fit in the women's ministry??

1 Corinthians 6:19-20

Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.

That is just one of many verses that God gives us in the bible that tells us how we should treat the body that He has given us. God desires us to treat our bodies like temples, they are His. What more motivation do we need other than God's instructions?? Did you know that God gives us many instructions in the Bible about how we should eat, how we should grow things, how we should be healthy? I will be posting those on here!
Guess what??? This isn't just for us women. This is for the whole family. In the US we have the highest level of obesity and diabetes in adults and children than any other time in history. As women, we are, most of the time, the one's who shop, the one's who prepare, and the one's in charge of what our families put in their bodies. To make a change, it can start with us!!

Here is just a little freebie tip of the week since this is the first posting...

DRINK MORE WATER....are you thirsty?? Then you are already dehydrated..yes..that's true. This is the hardest thing for me personally to do. How much should you drink?? About 2 liters a day. To make it not so blah, I like to add lemon and limes. I also love to add these little flavor packets...these contain no sugar or preservatives or chemicals....
you can find these at Kroger and Walmart..stevia is the sweetener...no calories no chemicals
If you see us out..you will see us with these! It makes it easier if it's with you all the time!!

no calories no chemicals sweetened with stevia as well!!
